Prohuman Craiova is recruiting for our client Ford Otosan Craiova - Purchasing – Buyer

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • The buyer has responsibility to ensure value for money procurement of parts or services.
  • Work closely with the business owners to develop sourcing strategies to satisfy forthcoming business requirements.
  • The buyer ensures contractual compliance in line with Ford Otosan Procurement guidelines and negotiates any exceptions to mitigate risk.
  • Develop sourcing strategies for future model or capacity requirements.
  • Develop in-depth understanding of industry segment and leading suppliers operating in that sector (automotive and non-automotive).
  • Source services based on approved commodity strategies.
  • Undertake benchmarking activities, such as market tests, to create/maintain a world-class supply base. Perform analysis of complex outcomes, present sourcing recommendations based on technical & commercial recaps to work with internal customers to achieve the right decision for the Company.
  • Develop and maintain Suppliers that are capable of meeting quality, cost, timing and technology expectations.
  • Support the lease/buy decision process with customer & Finance teams and drive negotiation of lease costs/ issues.
  • Work with customers to ensure supply base is cost competitive.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms & conditions (as required).
  • Drive supplier and commodity specific plans to achieve cost reduction targets.
  • Process cost requests and perform reuse/ retool versus new-buy studies, to make optimal use of surplus assets for greater investment efficiency.
  • Address currency problems and adopt best efforts to offset negative currency impacts.
  • Champion supplier delivery to ensure programs are on time.
  • Other duties and tasks, related to the job, as assigned by the Supervisor/Manager
  • Monitor supplier performance to contract key performance indicators.
  • Assist skill team in the resolution of issues as and when.
  • Ensure supplier launch timing objectives are met.

Requirements:

  • University degree
  • Good written and oral English language skills;
  • Commercial business expertise or buying is an advantage.
  • Well-experienced in MS office tools Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint;
  • Good communication and organizational skills – leading cross-functional teams;
