Responsibilities:
  • Assume end-to-end responsibility for the accounting operations in Romania.
  • Ensure accurate, complete, and timely execution of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Oversee general ledger activities, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and statutory records.
  • Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and internal group policies.
  • Maintain well-structured documentation and audit-ready financial records.
  • Prepare and review monthly management reporting packages in line with Group Finance requirements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of annual financial statements and statutory reporting.
  • Ensure consistency, transparency, and reliability of financial information submitted to Group Finance.
  • Analyze financial results, identify variances, and provide clear explanations to management and the Group Controller.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small local accounting team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
  • Act as the primary liaison for external auditors and coordinate the annual audit process end-to-end.
  • Oversee tax compliance (VAT, corporate income tax, and other statutory obligations) in collaboration with external advisors.
  • Monitor changes in local regulations and ensure timely implementation of necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate closely with local management and Group Finance to ensure financial transparency and alignment.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes where required.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably including team coordination responsibilities.
  • Solid experience managing full-cycle accounting processes and statutory reporting.
  • Exposure to international reporting environments or matrix organizations is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Professional accounting certification (e.g., ACCA, CECCAR or equivalent) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of local accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Proven experience with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Advanced Excel skills (data analysis, pivot tables, reporting models).
  • Experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to translate financial data into meaningful insights.
  • Hands-on leader with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Fluency in Romanian and English (written and spoken).
  • Experience in a fast-growing, dynamic company environment is considered a strong advantage.
